Taste of Little Italy!

Today was such an eventful day. Meeting up with an LJ seller for a Garage skirt. Picking up groceries in less than 20 minutes with my mom. Trying on shoes with Ori then heading up to check out the Taste of Little Italy. Meeting a bunch of familiar faces on the way. =]

The MuchMusic Video Awards was happening this weekend…. so the Queen St. East area was just a big bunch of traffic jam. Horrible.

Well anyways, I finally got to check out those Onitsuka Tiger babies that I’ve been eyeing for a while now. They are these three holes on the hedge of the shoe. Those tiny little square windows annoy the heck out of me. Like seriously. I mean, you could see through those damn things! *shakes fist*

So I didn’t end up getting them. Because of those three holes. And the fact that Ori said the toe area has this weird sharp angle to it… the ‘transition’ as she would call it. Picky picky!

After leaving the shopping area, we finally headed over to Little Italy. We just so happened to walk by a Shoppers…. and the 20x sign was just telling us to go inside and shop. And we caved…. but hello! 20x points! Who can resist?!

The Taste of Little Italy was awesome! Quite a bit of food. We had these rice ball filled with Mozzarella cheese. At first, I thought it’d be like the Japanese rice ball… but it’s different. The texture of rice is different. Blending the cheese into it really adds the omph in it. The picture featured is the friend plantain with ricotta cheese, which was a measly three bucks! I’ve never had fried plantain with cheese before, so it was definitely cool to try it. Next up, I had two scoops of ice cream. The ice cream was delish and it was packed into this tiny little cup.

We met up later on with Meli (who I haven’t seen since I left OTPP), Julian and Janet, Alan and his lady friend. It’s funny how everyone knew each other… except for Alan.

Dinner date with Derek

Derek and I went out for a really nice dinner. =] I picked this place on Unionville Main St – La Grotta on Main. The food was pretty good. We shared some calamari as an appetizer and I had a linguine pescatore. Both were really good. I <3 pasta!

This weekend was also the Unionville Festival. Nothing was really happening on the street, but it was still crowded nonetheless. We attempted to get gelato, but we were both too full for any more dessert. Next time!
