The Millionaire Next Door
The Millionaire Next Door

As part of my “before 2009 ends to-do list”, I plan to read 3 books (2 finance-related, 1 marketing-related). The library called me saying that this book on my request list is finally available! I’ve read about 30 pages so far, and it’s pretty good. Some of the charts and tables are outdated, since it was published back in 1996. The key ideas, however, are not lost in the time machine. Basically, the authors explain that:

If you spend less than what you earn, you can be a millionaire.
If you avoid buying status objects, you can be a millionaire.
If you can take risky investments (only if it’s worth the reward), you can be a millionaire.
If you teach your kids about investment and money matters, your future generations can be millionaires.

It’s been a pretty good read, will have to keep up this habit.
On the recommendation list for personal financial health!

Dr. Jart+ Blue Label
Dr. Jart+ Blue Label BB Cream

I saw this at the Korean cosmetics store with my mom. It’s a Blemish Balm (BB) cream. What it basically is is a tinted moisturizer. Depending on the type of BB cream, the tinted part varies. The magical part about this BB cream is that it usually has some type of healing property to it (ie. skin whitening, antiwrinkle, extra moisturizing).

The one that caught my eye was this Dr. Jart+ (Dew Drop) Blue Label cream. The Blue Label specifics that it’s ultra watery and it locks in the moisture. When I first tried it on my hand, these little water droplets immediately appeared. As I spread out the cream, the droplet sinks into my skin and the ‘colour’ of the cream came out. Afterwards, I noticed my hand was a bit lighter (the skin whitening part) and it’s noticeably softer. It also covered some of the blue veins on my hand. It definitely had the ‘dewy’ look it says on the bottle.

I’ll definitely planning on buying the full bottle.

christmas shopping!
Christmas surprise!

Gearing up for the Christmas season… with some pre-season shopping. =] Christmas 2009 is going to be yummylicious!

Stepping class today was killer. Calves never hurt so much from stepping on and off a piece of plastic. Not as high as the picture though.

moooooooooar starbucks
moooooooooar starbucks. on a coffee break with Niles.

Healthy… yet unhealthy? That sums up this week.
I had a deadly poutine on Monday, stretched and strengthened on tuesday and wednesday. So… this cappuccino from Starbucks balances out everything?

Stepping class tomorrow! Looking forwards to it.

Stretch and Strengthen class
Stretch and Strengthen class in the afternoon

There’s a new 2 week program at work – Stretch and Strengthen. It’s 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. It’s a pretty gentle stretch class… too bad it’s only half an hour! Definitely looking forward to the morning classes… if only I could make it there in time!

Anyways, today was definite a very productive day. I don’t usually talk about work life on here…. but today was different. I completed everything on my daily to-do list and had a girl-talk with Niles. I also did the Stretch and Strengthen class, went to the library and grocery-shopped. And now I’m onto updating this blog! Will definitely have to keep this momento going.

Veggie Deluxe Poutine
The artery-clogging veggie deluxe poutine from Smoke’s Poutinerie

Just looking at that picture makes me heart cringe. Yet I still wolfed that poutine down like it was air. I ended up going to the new location at Dundas and Jarvis… across the street from a strip club. Interesting location. Maybe that has something to do with the non-sittings at this location.

Anyways, the veggie deluxe poutine had… mushrooms, onions and green peas, on top of the usual veggie gravy, cheese curd and fries. Pretty tasty, if you ask me! The green peas were a bit over whelming… just WAY too many. Next up on the list! The veggie nachos!

So good… yet so unhealthy.
Will have to hit up the gym (or so to speak) for the rest of the week!

Funny thing that happened, 2 other co-ops (who are both mathies) and I wandered around the Ryerson campus and decided to ‘randomly’ pick a building to have our heart cloggers. Guess which building we ended up in? The Engineering and Computer Science building. What are the chances eh?

The Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Beauty with National Ballet of Canada

Went to see The Sleeping Beauty with Ori. Everything was amazing. It took us a while to figure out the story of Sleeping Beauty. The one with the beast? Nope! The one with the dwarfs? Nope! The one with the long hair? Nope! It’s the one with the needle! Ding ding ding! We probably should’ve brushed up on our fairytales and Disney Princesses.

But back to the show, the ballet was really amazing. I loved how extravagant everyone was. Especially the Lilac Fairy. She was SO good at floating around the stage. I thought she was on rollerblades for a second! The wicked witch was also pretty awesome. Her costume was quite over the top. Halloween inspiration! =]

Princess Aurora and her prince charming did an amazing Pas de Duex together. *sigh* I wish I was dancing on pointe again. Things just seem so much better with it’s on pointe!

Anyways, after the show, we crazily hurried around to get dinner. Street food? Nah. Being the crazy sushi fanatics that we are, we hit up Sushi on Bloor for some takeout goodness. Definitely ended the night with a big bang!

Hm. Quiet day at work… even though it’s Jeans Day for United Way, hence the uber-casual outfit.
