Done and done! Finally bought myself a netbook.
I’m getting the Asus Eee PC 1000HE. The E stands for extended battery life.
Asus says the extended battery can lasts for more than 9 hours, but the the more realistic time is around 7.5 hours. That’s still pretty good.
ETA is on the 18th. The company that I ordered it from is super close to my work (and the excellent Thai place). So hopefully, I can pick up the netbook and some excellent thai food next week. Excited!
I can’t stop thinking of ways to bling up my netbook.

Another doctor’s appointment. Just a walk-in clinic.
The doctor there’s pretty nice. But the only thing is, I spend 20 minutes waiting for her and I get to talk to her for about 5 minutes. Given I usually don’t have much to say…. but still. I want it to make it worth my time.

BCE Place…. Brookefield Place? I was a tad earlier, so I walked around a bit before heading over to Pure Spirits.

Steamed mussels and frites
Excellent appetizer. The mussels had this buttery kind of sauce with a very garlicky smell to it. Very tasty. And the frites…. tastes like the spicy tracks fries from Bomber…. but a gazillion times better.

Seadred striped bass fillet
cod brandade cake, sauteed kale and hollandaise
Interesting presentation, but just as scrumptious. The crispy fish skin was perfect.
The little orange coloured ribbons…. they were yam cut up in very thin slices and fried.

Warm dark chocloate cake
dark fudge ice cream
This was soooooooo good. The chocolate cake was just at the rest level of sweetness. The texture of the cake was perfect, not too dense, not too light. The dark fudge ice cream? Where can I get a bucket of this!? It was just that good!

Pure Spirits in the Distillery District. Definitely coming back in the summer.

Ori + Me: Super satisfied after the delicious meal. =]

First poker night of the term with the kiddie engineers.
This was my first (or second?) hand as a dealer.
I’m just that good, I know.
It was a pretty fun night.
Rebecca was a super generous host. She even made us chocolate mousse cake and Albert Campbell-style chocolate chip cookies!

hm. Tried to make sweet potato fries… baked, not fried.
Didn’t really turn out the way I thought it’d be. =\
Oh well, next time!

Some of the guys at work are going crazy about Chuck Norris!
It’s absolutely insanity.
I think he’s been mentioned at least 50 times a day.

The left one… a peachy skittle.
The right one… a grey skittle?!
NEEEEEH. wrong! it’s the purple skittle in the smoothie mix skittles.
It tastes like mixed berries… but it looks like it would taste like paper. yuk!

Famous Crab & Lobster Bisque
Super yummy. I found it to be a tad salty, but it was very seafood flavourful.

Seafood Mixed Grill – Grilled Tiger Shrimp, Deep Sea Scallop,
Filet of Sole, Lobster Tail, Tomatoes Fennel Pernod Saffron Sauce with Basmati Rice Pilaf & Swiss Chard
This was…. decent. Quite tomato-y. I didn’t really like the presentation of the plate.
The middle pile? it’s rice.

Chocolate cake
Hm. This was good…. because it was a store-bought dessert. *shrugs*
